Nothing surpasses the natural beauty of Copper Mountain, Colorado, than in the fall.

A palette of red, gold, yellow, and bronze sweeps the hillsides. Comfort Condo is the perfect place to make a home base as you explore the vibrant colors, crisp air, and inviting scents of Copper Mountain and the surrounding areas in autumn.

In today’s blog post, we’ll talk about some of the things to see and do during your fall stay at Comfort Condo.

Vail Farmers Market

A highlight of any Copper Mountain stay is the Vail Farmer’s Market and Art Show. 148 vendors set up along Meadow Drive in Vail every Sunday from June 16 to October 6. Visit the market from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Experience a wide range of products, including:

  • Baked goods
  • Artisan soaps
  • Artwork
  • Savory snacks
  • Jewelry
  • Clothing
  • Fresh honey
  • Holiday décor

The market transforms as Vail heads into winter, becoming Kris Kringle Market for the weekend of December 7 to December 10. From 11 am to 4 pm, spend the end of fall sipping cider, tasting sugar cookies, and getting your holiday shopping started.

The nearby Dillon Farmer’s Market is open June 9 to September 15, Fridays, from 9 am to 2 pm. The brand new Dillon Park Town and an expanded market make it a great choice for activities that are fun for all. Be sure to check out live music from 10:30 am to 1 pm.

Horseback Riding

Leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life behind and feel the wind in your hair on horseback.

Platte Ranch and Double B Riding Stables in Fairplay, Colorado, offers ranch riding with some of the most spectacular views in Colorado. See the fall colors of the mountainside like nowhere else.

Ride along through more than 8,000 acres of ranch land. Travel over the South Platte River, and trot through the foliage up the mountainside for a full panoramic view.

You can also visit Breckenridge Stables for trail rides and take advantage of their Pumpkin Patch Hay Rides from September 6 to October 29. Gore Range Outfitters also offers horseback riding. They keep group sizes small, making the experience one to remember.

The Georgetown Loop

If watching the fall foliage by horseback isn’t for you, take a scenic ride on the historic steam engine train. Board the Georgetown Loop to explore the sights of the Colorado Rocky Mountains by train. Take a trip back in time and explore the Old West by rail. Visit the Miner Park to try your luck at gold panning.

Ideal times to book a trip on the Georgetown Loop include:

  • Fall Colors: September 22 to 24 and September 29 to October 1
  • Pumpkinfest Train: October 6 to 8
  • Autumnfest Train: October 13 to 15 and October 20 to 22

This is a nostalgic, fun-filled experience for the whole family.

Relax at Home Base

Finally, after a long day of activities, wind down at Comfort Condo. A hub between all the towns throughout Summit County, this is the perfect place to rejuvenate each day. Take a soak in the hot tub on the back patio and sink into steaming water while taking in views of the picturesque fall foliage.

Take a rest in a luxurious rustic log bed, sit around the community fire pit for an evening chat, Marshmallow-roasting, making Smores, and enjoy a hot beverage around the fire.
